Our Story
In 2012, Guy Baumann had a dream, a place where his children and their friends could thrive, game, and explore the wonders of technology together. What started as a spark of passion turned into something extraordinary. With a couple of computers and a lot of heart, Guy transformed his living room into a cosy tech haven. Krash Labs was born, not as a business, but as a place where creativity, play, and belonging could flourish.
By 2013, the living room couldn’t contain the energy anymore. The idea of Krash Labs had outgrown its walls, fuelled by the shared excitement of a growing community. Moving into the local YMCA wasn’t just about gaining space, it was about embracing a bigger vision, a place where kids, teens, and families could connect through technology, gaming, and creativity.
In 2018, Krash Labs took its boldest step yet. As a Community Interest Company (CIC), co-founded by Guy Baumann and Damien Ferrari, it became a hub for innovation and opportunity. With three buzzing rooms, 50 computers, and countless ideas, Krash Labs was ready to make a real impact, not just in gaming, but in people’s lives.
Krash Labs isn’t just a space for technology, it’s a space for people. From recreating iconic landmarks in Minecraft to building digital art that leaves you breathless, every project tells a story. And our influence doesn’t stop there. The games we love and the tech we build have reached arcade machines worldwide, proving that a little creativity and a lot of teamwork can take you anywhere.
But what sets Krash Labs apart isn’t just what we create, it’s how we care. Through volunteering, apprenticeships, and job placements, we help people grow. At Krash Labs, success isn’t just measured in megabytes or pixels, it’s in the lives we change.
Then came the unexpected, a global pandemic. Lockdowns threatened everything we had built. But Krash Labs isn’t just a place, it’s a spirit. Even when all we had were gaming laptops, we adapted. We stayed connected, supporting each other through uncertainty. In those moments, we learnt that our greatest strength is the community we’ve built.
Our mission is clear, to create a safe, inclusive space where everyone belongs. From after-school clubs to holiday programmes, from rural outreach to gaming events designed for neurodivergent individuals, Krash Labs isn’t just about technology, it’s about people. It’s about coming together to learn, play, and grow.
Every step of our journey has been fuelled by passion and a belief that technology can connect and inspire. Whether we’re teaching, building, or dreaming, we’re always pushing boundaries and exploring what’s possible.
What started as one parent’s hope has grown into something far greater, a community hub where creativity meets opportunity, and technology meets humanity.
Krash Labs is just getting started. Join us, and let’s create something amazing together.
